What Happened?

On August 1, 2015, C.D. was walking on Church Avenue in Brooklyn about to catch the bus to the beach. As he was passing a gentleman on the sidewalk, his right sandal caught a raised edge on a sidewalk cellar door causing him to trip and fall to the ground. C.D.’s stumble caused him to fracture his big toe on his left foot requiring emergency medical attention at Kings County Hospital where he was driven by a good Samaritan passer-by. Follow-up medical examinations after the accident confirmed the need for the bone to be surgically reset.
