“The entire process was seamless. The Case Handler team did everything for me and I got a great settlement.”
-C.D. from Brooklyn, New York
$102,000.00 Settlement
On August 1, 2015, C.D. was walking on Church Avenue in Brooklyn about to catch the bus to the beach. As he was passing a gentleman on the sidewalk, his right sandal caught a raised edge on a sidewalk cellar door causing him to trip and fall to the ground. C.D.’s stumble caused him to fracture his big toe on his left foot requiring emergency medical attention at Kings County Hospital where he was driven by a good Samaritan passer-by. Follow-up medical examinations after the accident confirmed the need for the bone to be surgically reset.
A family friend of C.D. (who was an attorney himself) referred C.D. to The Case Handler. Our team immediately went to work identifying the owner(s) of the premises and sent our trusted investigator Danny to the scene to take photographs before the defect was fixed.
The defense argued that the raised edge of the cellar door was a “new” defect that they had no notice of. However, the Case Handler can never be fooled and argued that the vegetation growing under the defect was indicative of a long-standing problem.
