What Happened?
On September 21st, 2022, Allison was sitting in traffic on Conner Street when she was rear-ended by another vehicle in the Bronx. The force of the impact pushed her into the car in front of her! She struck the right side of her chest and shoulder on the steering wheel and remembered her neck jerking back and forth. She was taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital where she was evaluated and treated. She was given a pain injection and was eventually released home.
Allison injured her right shoulder and neck due to the accident. She experienced pain reaching across her body and pain reaching out to the right. Her pain limited her abilities to do her job, work, lift, carry, perform household chores, and sleep. A couple of months later she developed left shoulder pain as a result of overuse. She received additional medical care and attended physical therapy for several weeks. Despite this, she continued to be symptomatic in the right shoulder. When conservative treatment measures failed, Allison underwent right shoulder surgery under general anesthesia on December 9th, 2022.
