What Happened?
On December 25, 2017, Leroy was on his way to his family’s house for Christmas dinner. He was driving across the intersection of Pitman Avenue and Edson Avenue in the Bronx, when another driver ran the stop sign and struck the passenger’s side of Leroy’s car! The force of the impact pushed Leroy’s vehicle into another vehicle, bounce off and spin around, and strike another vehicle. Leroy was taken by ambulance to Montefiore Medical Center for examination and had X-rays of the left knee performed. He was discharged home that day.
As a result of the accident, Leroy sustained injuries to his neck, lower back, and left knee. He had difficulty twisting and turning, bending forward, sitting, standing, or walking for prolonged periods of time and using the stairs. Leroy was referred to physical therapy, diagnostic imaging, and evaluation by orthopedist and spine specialist. While the pain in his back improved with conservative treatment and an epidural injection, his knee continued to bother him the most even with treatment. The pain in his knee worsened when he used the stairs and had to put all his weight on the left leg.
As a huge supporter of Adam Handler, Leroy called The Case Handler team soon after his accident. After investigating into the accident, we quickly discovered that the Defendant told the police that Leroy sped through the intersection and caused the accident! Although the Defendant lied and blamed Leroy for the accident, our top Bronx stop sign accident lawyers at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP successfully proved the Defendant was at-fault and recovered a significant settlement for Leroy!
