What Happened?
On August 8, 2021, Vera went to drop off dinner for some people. As she was driving back home near the intersection of Burke Avenue and Bronxwood Avenue in the Bronx, there was a car driving in the opposite direction that attempted to go around a vehicle by driving on the wrong side of the road. At the same moment, the other vehicle illegally entered the lane, Vera was driving in that same lane! The car collided into the driver’s side of Vera’s vehicle and she had to be cut out of her vehicle by emergency responders. She later went to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital where she was evaluated, treated, and discharged home with pain medication.
Vera injured her lower back and left knee/thigh due to the accident. She had ongoing low back pain that radiated down her left leg. She also experienced stiffness in her lower back especially when getting up from a chair, getting out of bed, and also when bending down. Her pain felt worse in the morning, with prolonged standing, and excessive activity. Since Vera was dealing with left knee/thigh pain for months, consequently she developed right knee pain. When minimally invasive treatment failed to improve her back pain, Vera underwent a pain management injection on November 23, 2021.
As a past client of The Case Handler team, Vera already knew who she needed to call for legal help after her accident. Two days after the accident, she reached out to our team! While Vera was able to focus on her physical recovery, our team handled her financial recovery. With the help of our skilled Bronx wrong-way accident lawyer at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, Vera’s medical bills were paid and she recovered the $25,000.00 maximum policy limits from the Defendant’s insurance company!
