What Happened?
On November 10th, 2020, Jackson was riding his motorcycle in Brooklyn, New York. As he crossed the intersection of Utica Avenue and Rutland Road, a car ran the red light and made a u-turn right behind him. The vehicle struck Jackson’s motorcycle and he fell to the ground! Fortunately, Jackson was wearing a helmet and did not remember hitting his head when he fell off his bike. He was taken to the emergency room at Kings County Hospital Center where he was evaluated, given a sling for his left shoulder, and discharged home with pain medication.
As a result of the accident, Jackson injured his left shoulder and lower back. The pain he was experiencing felt worse with any type of activity like bending, twisting, turning, lifting, and carrying items. Jackson had difficulty sleeping on the left side and doing household chores. He underwent several weeks of physical therapy and was unable to go back to work for over 4 months. Thankfully, Jackson was able to reach maximum medical improvement with several months of conservative treatment measures. He underwent a lumbar pain management injection but did not need surgery.
A friend of Jackson told him that he should speak with a good lawyer and gave Jackson the number to call The Case Handler! Since Jackson’s injuries appeared to be minor since he did not need surgery, the Defendant’s insurance company only offered Jackson $16,878.23 to settle his bodily injury claim. With the legal guidance of our skilled Brooklyn motorcycle accident attorneys at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we successfully recovered the highest settlement award available for Jackson!
