What Happened?
On February 12th, 2020, Ellen was driving westbound on Avenue L when she stopped at a 4-way stop sign and proceeded through the intersection of East 85th Street. As she was crossing the intersection, another vehicle did not stop properly at the stop sign and struck the front driver’s side of Ellen’s car! Thankfully, Ellen did not have any head trauma or lose consciousness. She was evaluated by EMS at the scene and later went to CityMD Urgent Care Center where she was evaluated and discharged home.
As a result of the accident, Ellen injured her left shoulder. She was diagnosed with left shoulder rotator cuff tendinopathy which is when a tendon in your shoulder has tiny tears, and can cause inflammation and pain. She had difficulty raising her arm, lying down on her left side, and reaching overhead and backward. She felt numbness, tingling, and weakness in her left arm as well. Ellen participated in therapy three times a week. When she continued experiencing left shoulder pain even after therapy, Ellen underwent a pain management injection that provided more relief. Approximately one year after the accident, Ellen had lost up to 33% of the range of motion of her left arm.
Ellen was a past client of Adam Handler from an accident she had a few years prior to this accident. We helped her get through the process successfully before and she knew she could trust The Case Handler team to get through it again! Although she had previous injuries from another accident and the other driver was blaming Ellen for causing the accident, our experienced Brooklyn stop sign accident lawyers at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP recovered Ellen’s lost wages from not being able to work and an outstanding financial recovery!
