"I'm incredibly thankful to Matt Goodstein, Adam Handler, and their amazing team for guiding me through such a difficult time. After suffering serious complications from a physical therapy injury, they stood by me every step of the way. Matt always made sure I understood what was happening with my case and took the time to answer my questions with care. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to reach a fair settlement without the stress of going to court. I truly feel like I gained not just legal support, but a trusted ally in Mr. Goodstein."
- Samuel from Brooklyn, NY
What Happened?
For a few months, Samuel had been experiencing pain in his right forearm, so he went to the doctor to get it checked out. An MRI revealed that he had torn a tendon in his right hand, and in February 2023, he underwent surgery to repair his right wrist. Following the surgery, Samuel began physical therapy sessions to aid in his recovery. Unfortunately, in April 2023, a therapist bent his wrist downward during a session, causing immediate pain and swelling. Within days, the severity of the injury became obvious. A doctor confirmed that the tendon had completely ruptured, requiring Samuel to undergo a second surgery later that same month.
As a result of this therapy negligence incident, Samuel had to undergo another invasive surgery under general anesthesia. Thirteen weeks after the revision surgery, the surgical area had healed but remained fragile. Samuel described the feeling as having a “dead man’s hand.” To make matters worse, his right hand was his dominant hand, and his job required precision work using his hands. Every day tasks became a struggle – he had difficulty or was unable to work, drive his stick shift car, make a fist, get dressed, or even shower. He also suffered from insomnia. In December 2024, it was documented that Samuel could only lift up to 8 lbs of dumbbell weight with his right hand.
