What Happened?
On December 10th, 2020, Michael was stopped at a red light waiting for it to turn green when the car behind him struck the right backside of his vehicle. The force of the impact caused Michael’s head to whip back and his vehicle to jerk forward. The other driver told the police that it was Michael’s fault because Michael released his brakes when the light was green and then pressed the brake suddenly causing the collision. Michael reported himself to the emergency room of NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he was evaluated and discharged to home.
As a result of the accident, Michael suffered injuries to his neck, lower back, and left shoulder. He complained of persistent neck pain that would radiate to his left arm. He also experienced tingling in his left arm and would sometimes feel numbness in the arm and left hand up to the 5th finger. The pain in his lower back would radiate to his lower extremity and was aggravated by prolonged sitting or prolonged walking. The pain he felt in his left shoulder was greatest “under his shoulder blade.” Michael had difficulty turning his head and difficulty with motion overall. He attended physical therapy, acupuncture, and later underwent neck surgery (anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at level C4/5/6) on May 5th, 2021.
Michael heard about Adam Handler, The Case Handler, from listening to our show on 93.5 FM radio. Less than a week after his accident, Michael Charles called our team and we went to work right away. While the other driver blamed Michael for the accident, our team successfully obtained a video of the actual collision which proved Michael was properly stopped at a red light and the Defendant’s statement was false. Thanks to our top-rated Brooklyn traffic light accident lawyer at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, all of Michael’s medical bills were paid and he recovered a $99,500.00 settlement!
