What Happened?
On September 16th, 2019, Aiden was driving eastbound on Pitkin Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. He was near the Snediker Avenue intersection when another vehicle driving westbound on Pitkin Avenue made a sudden illegal u-turn in the middle of the street and hit the driver’s side of Aiden’s car! The driver that hit Aiden claimed to be waiting for parking when they made the u-turn. He reported himself to the emergency room of Kings County Hospital Center where he was evaluated, treated, and discharged home.
Aiden injured his neck, back, and right knee due to the accident. He had difficulty with heavy lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling. His lifting tolerance was about 45-50 pounds. He also had difficulty with prolonged sitting and standing. He suffered multiple disc bulges and disc herniations. He regularly attended physical therapy for several months. When minimally invasive pain management therapy was not enough treatment for his knee, he underwent right knee surgery under general anesthesia in July 2020. As a result of his injuries, Aiden was totally incapacitated from work for approximately five weeks.
Initially, Aiden contacted another lawyer that his friend recommended to him. That lawyer never responded back. Thanks to another recommendation, Aiden’s next call was to Adam Handler!
“I was really impressed with The Case Handler team. They provided clear explanations of my options and results that helped me make better decisions about my case,” said Aiden.
The at-fault driver’s insurance company made a final offer of $75,000 to resolve Aiden’s bodily injury claim. With the help of our talented Brooklyn u-turn accident lawyer from Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we not only successfully recovered the $100,000 maximum policy limits from the Defendant’s insurance company, but we also recovered an additional $35,000 of underinsured motorist coverage from Aiden’s policy as well!
