What Happened?
On January 21st, 2020, Francis was traveling south on Bronxwood Avenue when he crossed the intersection of East Gun Hill Road on a green light. As he was crossing the intersection, there was an NYPD vehicle traveling east that completely blew through the red light on East Gun Hill Road and struck the front passenger’s side of Francis’ vehicle! The police vehicle was not responding to an emergency when it drove through the red light at the intersection. Francis was removed from the scene and taken by ambulance to the Montefiore Medical Center where he was evaluated, treated, and released home.
As a result of the accident, Francis suffered multiple injuries to his head, neck (cervical spine), and lower back (lumbar spine). He described the ongoing pain in his neck as a throbbing, aching, and stabbing sensation with stiffness and muscle spasms. His neck pain would radiate down the bilateral upper extremities with weakness and experiences intermittent headaches (to this day) with lightheadedness, dizziness. The pain in his lower back felt worse with prolonged sitting and he experienced occasional radiation down bilateral lower extremities (more on the right side) with numbness, tingling, and weakness. The severity and ongoing nature of his pain limited his ability to enjoy activities he once enjoyed.
A couple of years prior to this accident, Francis was struck by a drunk driver in another accident. He chose Adam Handler and was so happy with his experience that he again chose The Case Handler team to handle his second accident case. With the help of our skilled NYPD auto accident attorneys at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we made sure that all of Francis’ medical bills were paid off and we recovered a remarkable settlement for him…again!
