What Happened?
On March 28, 2017, Ariel had finished working at her first job and was walking to her second job. When the pedestrian signal turned green for Ariel at the intersection of 110th Street and 3rd Avenue in East Harlem, she began walking across the street. At that moment, a vehicle that also had a green light (but wasn’t paying attention to pedestrians in the crosswalk) drove into the intersection and turned left exactly where Ariel was walking. The car struck Ariel on her left side and was knocked down to the ground. Ariel’s immediate reaction was to get up and run to get out of the street, but kind strangers came to her aid and made sure she didn’t move until the ambulance arrived. The people helping Ariel also covered her with their umbrellas since it was raining.
Ariel was taken to Harlem Hospital Center, evaluated, and released the same day with crutches and pain relievers. As a result of the accident, Ariel severely injured her left knee and left shoulder (torn ligaments). To help repair the damage to her left shoulder, Ariel underwent left shoulder surgery on June 1, 2017.
Thankfully, Ariel’s brother was a fan of Adam’s radio show and told her to call Adam Handler! As Ariel mentioned, The Case Handler team was there for her throughout the entire process. Our team stepped in and made sure that the driver’s insurance company (Geico) paid for Ariel’s lost time from work, medical care, and therapy through New York’s no-fault insurance. With his years of experience dealing with uncooperative insurance companies, Adam Handler successfully helped Ariel expedite her personal injury claim and obtained the Maximum Policy Limit settlement from Geico!
