What Happened?
On September 1st, 2019, Tony and Michelle were heading eastbound on the Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95) near Audubon Avenue in New York, NY. As they were driving straight, they were rear-ended very hard by another driver that also pushed them into the vehicle in front of them. Their airbags burst open as they were crushed between two vehicles and a chain reaction of rear-end accidents occurred in front of Tony and Michelle. Since they were both experiencing pain after the accident, Tony and Michelle were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
As a result of the accident, Tony sustained injuries to his head (concussion), neck, and back. He also suffered a right shoulder SLAP tear, which is often painful and can cause a clicking or locking sensation. He received multiple pain management injections to his right shoulder and back, and also underwent right shoulder surgery on May 25th, 2021. Michelle sustained injuries to her face, neck, back, and left shoulder. She received pain management injections to the left shoulder and suffered several herniated/bulging discs in her spine that later required surgery on June 14th, 2021. Due to their injuries, Tony was unable to work for 20 days and Michelle was unable to work for 23 days
