What Happened?
On September 29th, 2018, Charlie was driving on Ravensdale Road located in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson in Westchester County. As Charlie was driving south, another vehicle traveling north crossed over the single yellow line that was dividing the roadway and struck Charlie head-on! Unfortunately, the front airbags didn’t deploy. She remembered hitting her head on the left side, but had difficulty remembering the rest of the accident. Charlie was transported by ambulance to St. John’s Riverside Hospital for evaluation, treatment, and was later released home with pain medication.
As a result of the accident, Charlie suffered multiple injuries to her neck, lower back, left shoulder (rotator cuff tendinosis), left knee, head (concussion), and jaw. She described her pain on a numeric scale as a 10 out of 10, which was worse when she did normal daily activities such as standing, sitting, bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Charlie also experienced difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep because of the pain. She was required to undergo a lumbar spine pain management injection and was totally incapacitated from working for about eight months after the incident.
It was Charlie’s uncle who told her to call Adam Handler! “Everyone that I spoke to there was very nice and patient with me. They checked in on me to make sure I was ok and going to therapy. It was the little things that I appreciated the most,” said Charlie. With the help of our accomplished Hastings-on-Hudson car accident lawyer at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, Charlie’s medical bills were paid and we helped her recover a $197,500.00 settlement, plus all her lost wages!
