What Happened?
In August 2025, Bonnie was driving a rental car southbound on Clinton Street in Hempstead, New York. She had a green light as she crossed the intersection of Clinton Street and Front Street when another driver traveling east on Front Street ran a red light and T-boned the passenger side of Bonnie’s car. The side airbags deployed, and the impact momentarily pushed Bonnie’s car on top of the other vehicle, leaving only the two left-side wheels on the ground before her car fell back down onto all four tires. Bonnie was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she was evaluated, treated, and subsequently released with pain medication.
As a result of the accident, Bonnie suffered injuries to her neck, shoulders, and right arm. When her car was struck, the left side of her body hit the driver’s side door. Although she hit the door on her left side, she experienced worse pain on the right side, where the other vehicle struck her car. She experienced ongoing neck pain and stiffness that radiated into both shoulders and down her right arm, along with numbness, tingling, and weakness. She also experienced shooting pain from her right elbow through her wrist and into her fingers, which would occasionally wake her up from sleep. When conservative treatment failed to provide relief, Bonnie underwent right shoulder surgery in December 2025.
