What Happened?
On August 24th, 2020, Calvin was driving a car rental while Hillary was sitting next to him in the front seat. While they were exiting LaGuardia Airport, the vehicle behind them was following them too closely and rear-ended their vehicle when they had to slow down to traffic ahead! The driver that hit them became enraged and left the scene of the accident. Thanks to an eyewitness that recorded the incident on his phone, they were able to track down the car and driver that hit them! The day after the accident, Calvin and Hillary went to the Montefiore Emergency Department where they were evaluated, treated, and subsequently released.
As a result of the accident, both of them sustained multiple injuries. Calvin felt left shoulder pain, mid-back pain, and low back pain with radiation down the left lower extremity with paresthesias. Hillary felt right shoulder pain, neck pain, mid-back pain, and low back pain. Calvin underwent pain management injections to his lumbar spine and left shoulder. Hillary underwent right shoulder surgery on October 22, 2020. Calvin was confined to his home for approximately 10 weeks due to his injuries and Hillary was confined to her home for approximately four months.
