What Happened?
On September 15, 2025, Tyson was driving in the far left lane of the Southern State Parkway on Long Island, New York. A reckless driver was traveling near him and repeatedly merged from the middle lane into the left lane to pass traffic. The other vehicle began merging too close to Tyson, so he started honking to avoid a collision, but it was too late. The vehicle sideswiped the right side of Tyson’s car, causing him to hit his left hip against the driver's door.
Police responded to the scene, and Tyson decided not to go to the hospital because he did not think he was seriously injured. Since the accident appeared minor, the police report noted no injuries, and no towing was necessary for the vehicles involved. Not long after the crash, Tyson began experiencing pain and sought medical attention the very next day.
As a result of the sideswipe accident, Tyson suffered injuries to his lower back and left hip, along with intermittent muscle spasms. He experienced sharp lower back pain radiating into his left hip, which worsened with prolonged standing and walking. Tyson was in a normal state of health before the accident, but afterward, his mobility, work, social activities, and exercise were greatly affected. In addition to conservative treatment, Tyson underwent a pain management injection and was unable to work for an extended period of time.

A family member told Tyson to call The Case Handler, and three days after the accident, he contacted us for help. Although the other driver provided insurance information at the scene, our investigation revealed that the driver had canceled their insurance before the crash and was completely uninsured.
Despite the defendant having no insurance and the police report indicating no injuries, our Long Island sideswipe accident lawyer successfully recovered Tyson’s lost wages and secured the maximum available policy limit of $25,000 through his uninsured motorist coverage in only four months.
