What Happened?
On November 5, 2016, Errol was driving his friend’s vehicle on East Sanford Blvd in Mount Vernon, NY. Since he had the right of way, Errol assumed the vehicle to his right would stop at the stop sign. Instead, the other vehicle proceeded in front of him causing him to go head first into the front left side of her car (t-bone collision). As a result of the violent collision, Errol’s front dashboard caved down into his right knee. At first, Errol felt fortunate there was a cop that witnessed the accident.
After exiting his vehicle with horrible knee pain, Errol observed the other driver’s demeanor and suspected she was intoxicated. Shockingly, the police offer at the accident scene called in a higher ranking police officer. To Errol’s further dismay, the officer appeared to know the defendant driver and even hugged her!
As a result, the police officer did NOT write a police report and she was not given a breathalyzer to confirm intoxication. To make matters even more difficult, The Case Handler later discovered (after Errol hired our team) that the defendant’s vehicle was NOT insured!
Having suffered injuries to his right leg/knee and right hand, Errol knew he needed legal help. Thanks to Errol’s brother for referring him to Adam Handler, Errol was able to receive the necessary medical treatment and surgery he needed for his right knee. Even without proper accident documentation from the police, The Case Handler team still successfully obtained the Maximum Policy Limit Settlement through his own Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage!
