What Happened?
On June 15th, 2021, Roger was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Drake Avenue and Pelham Road in New Rochelle, New York. While he was waiting for the light to turn green and without any warning, the driver behind him slammed into the rear of his car! The impact pushed Roger’s vehicle across the intersection onto the other side of Pelham Road. He remembered experiencing multiple whiplashes and head trauma. After the accident, Roger knew he was hurt and complained of head pain to the authorities. He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at Montefiore Hospital where he was evaluated, treated, and discharged home.
Roger injured his neck, back, and hands as a result of the accident. His neck pain would radiate to the upper extremity and he felt severe back pain from the middle to his lower back. Due to his injuries, Roger was limited in his ability to bend, lift, carry, sleep well, and perform household chores and activities of daily living. When months of minimally invasive pain management treatment failed to improve his pain, Roger underwent a pain management injection to his back, he underwent lower back surgery on January 10th, 2022, and underwent lower back surgery again on July 8th, 2022.
