"They’re great - very considerate, understanding, and truly go out of their way for you. Attorney Matthew Goodstein even traveled to Upstate New York to meet with me, and that meant so much."
- Brady from Newburgh, NY
What Happened?
On September 16, 2023, Brady was driving westbound on Little Britain Road in the town of New Windsor, New York, when he slowed down for traffic to make a left turn onto Bull Road as soon as it was safe. As he began turning, a pickup truck behind him attempted to pass on the left and crashed into the driver’s side of Brady’s car, right where he was sitting. Brady was transported by ambulance to a nearby emergency room, where he was evaluated, treated, and admitted to the hospital for two days before being released home.
As a result of the accident, Brady sustained injuries to his neck, shoulders, left knee, and lower back. He experienced the worst pain in his right side of his neck, radiating down his right arm with tingling sensations. His pain worsened when turning his neck, looking up, or walking. To help with mobility, Brady used a walking cane and lumbar brace for support. When minimally invasive pain management failed to provide relief, he underwent pain management injections in his neck and lower back. Since the accident, Brady has been unable to return to work as a driver.
Brady’s New Windsor Car Accident Lawyer
A few days after the accident, Brady was referred by a friend to our personal injury team. Just three days post-accident, the defendant’s insurance company allegedly conducted its “own” investigation and determined that Brady was 90% at fault, taking only 10% of the blame themselves (this concept of shared liability is known as comparative liability). To complicate matters further, Brady had a history of prior injuries that most defendants would point to as “pre-existing”, claiming that the pain was unrelated to the crash. The defendant was very quick to offer a low settlement.
Since they didn’t want to fairly compensate Brady, we were prepared to take them to trial. Despite these roadblocks, our highly experienced New Windsor car accident lawyer didn’t back down and successfully recovered $140,000 from the defendant’s insurance company for Brady!
