What Happened?
On January 10, 2024, Selena was driving in the evening near Searingtown Road and South Herricks Boulevard in North Hempstead. As she drove past a nearby library, another vehicle was exiting the library parking lot and attempting to make a left turn when it struck the passenger side of Selena’s vehicle. The impact caused her car to roll over twice before coming to rest on the passenger side. After the accident, Selena experienced pain all throughout her body. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was evaluated, treated, and released home the same day.
As a result of the crash, Selena suffered injuries to her neck, back, and left shoulder. Her pain was aggravated by almost any movement, including bending, lifting, coughing, sneezing, driving, and lying down. When minimally invasive treatment failed to improve her symptoms, Selena underwent multiple pain management injections and left shoulder surgery under general anesthesia in April 2024. Despite extensive treatment, she was left with significant and permanent injuries to her cervical spine, lumbar spine, and left shoulder. Selena was unable to return to work for approximately five months. Even 18 months after the accident, Selena was still not pain-free and had not regained full range of motion in all of her injured areas.
Selena’s North Hempstead Car Accident Lawyer
About four years before this accident, Selena had been involved in another car accident and hired a different lawyer to handle that case. Wanting a better experience this time, she was referred to our team by someone she knew. Just a few days after the accident, Selena contacted The Case Handler lawyers.
The defendant claimed to have barely hit Selena, despite the fact that the impact caused her vehicle to roll over twice. In an effort to minimize Selena’s damages, the defendant’s insurance company initially offered just $60,000. With the help of our talented North Hempstead car accident lawyer, we not only recovered the defendant’s maximum policy limits of $100,000, but also secured an additional $300,000 through the defendant’s umbrella policy we found, resulting in a total settlement of $400,000.
