What Happened?
On March 7th, 2017, Lional was riding his bicycle for work near the intersection of Broadway and Canal Street in New York City when he was sideswiped by an MTA bus on the right side. Lional fell off his bike and hit his head, but thankfully had no loss of consciousness. He was taken by ambulance to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital where he was evaluated, given crutches for ambulation, and released home.
As a result of the accident, Lional injured his knees, lower back, and head. He rated his right knee pain as a 10/10 in intensity. Lional experienced difficulty bending and putting weight on his right knee. When minimally invasive pain management therapy did not improve his knee enough, Lional underwent knee surgery on February 4th, 2019. His lower back pain, which he rated as an 8/10, would radiate down his right leg and cause numbness in the leg. He also experienced occasional headaches and blurry vision. Even a few years after the accident with the surgery, his knees have never been the same again.
The next day after his accident, Lional called The Case Handler team! The driver of the bus claimed that he was driving southbound when the “bicyclist stopped him” and told him that the bus hit him. The bus driver was unaware and did not realize that he hit Lional, so the driver did not tell the police that an accident actually happened. Lional had one chance to recover financial compensation and made his one choice The Case Handler team. With the help of our experienced NYC bicycle crash lawyer, Lional recovered $200,000.00!
