- Serena from Mt. Vernon, NY
What Happened?
On November 23, 2023, Serena was involved in a three-car collision in Westchester County. While driving home from work northbound on Pelhamdale Avenue and approaching the traffic light at the intersection of Boston Post Road in Pelham Manor, Serena was rear-ended, causing her to strike the vehicle in front of her. To make matters worse, she saw the car that hit her speed off from the scene! Police later found the vehicle abandoned. Serena was evaluated at the scene and then transported by ambulance to the hospital, where she underwent further testing, treatment, and was released home with pain medication.
As a result of the hit-and-run collision, Serena suffered injuries to her right shoulder and lower back. She experienced pain in the right shoulder and upper arm that made overhead movements difficult, along with constant lower back pain that was worse on the left side and made bending down difficult. At times, her back pain radiated down into her legs, causing tingling sensations. MRIs later revealed bulging and herniated discs in her back as well as shoulder tears. Thankfully, conservative treatment was effective, and her symptoms gradually improved.
Serena’s Pelham Manor Hit and Run Lawyer
A friend recommended The Case Handler team to Serena, and she reached out just four days after the accident. While the at-fault vehicle was eventually located by police, we discovered that the driver’s insurance policy was inactive at the time of the crash. With the defendant uninsured, we turned to Serena’s own insurance coverage. Even then, her own insurance company attempted to shift blame onto Serena to avoid paying.
Despite these challenges, our experienced Pelham Manor hit-and-run lawyer fought for her rights and recovered $45,000.00 through Serena’s uninsured motorist coverage (UIM).
