What Happened?
On March 10, 2019, our client “The Boiler Tech” was driving westbound on the Belt Parkway in his work vehicle. Our client was stopped in traffic when he was suddenly hit from behind by another vehicle! The other driver claimed to not have enough time to stop the car and crashed into our client as a result. The Boiler Tech remembers hitting his head on the steering wheel and feeling pain in his head after the accident. The Boiler Tech was taken by ambulance to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
As a result of the accident, our client injured his head, neck, and lower back. He underwent an MRI of the cervical spine which revealed multiple spine disc herniations, a cervical spine disc bulge, and a right C6 radiculopathy. He described his neck pain as feeling stiff and numb, with a pins and needles sensation down his right arm. The Boiler Tech also heard ringing in his right ear (tinnitus) for some time after the accident. He attended physical therapy a few times a week, participated in a daily home exercise program, and was unable to go back to work for several months.
The Boiler Tech had heard Adam Handler on the radio many times throughout the years. Without hesitation, he called our team the day after the accident! With the help of our award-winning personal injury team at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, our Queens Belt Parkway accident attorney recovered the MAXIMUM policy limits from the Defendant’s insurance company ($100k) and an additional $12,500.00 from our client’s workers’ compensation UIM benefits!
