What Happened?
On November 2, 2022, Rohan was riding his electric pedal-assist bike to work early in the morning, wearing his helmet as he traveled westbound on Linden Boulevard through the intersection of 133rd Street in Queens, New York. A vehicle driving in the same direction alongside him attempted to make a right turn and struck the left side of Rohan. His left foot became trapped between his bike and the vehicle, and the impact pried his boot off. He fell from the bike and struck his head, right hand, and left shoulder on the ground, recalling that he felt dazed and confused. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was evaluated, treated, and released home the same day. By the following day, his pain had worsened. Rohan sought care at another hospital, where imaging revealed a serious injury to his left shoulder.
As a result of the crash, Rohan suffered injuries to his neck, left shoulder, right wrist, lower back, and left hip. He experienced frequent headaches, neck pain radiating to his left shoulder and arm with weakness, and lower back pain radiating down his left leg accompanied by numbness, tingling, and additional weakness. Sleeping became difficult, especially on his left side, and his pain increased with overhead movement, daily activities, and walking. When conservative treatment failed to improve his shoulder, Rohan underwent left shoulder surgery under general anesthesia in February 2023. Because his job required carrying heavy objects, he was no longer able to work in the same capacity.

The defendant driver told the police that Rohan “came speeding out of nowhere” and hit their tire, even claiming he “must have been traveling between 40-50 miles per hour.” Our skilled Queens electric bike accident lawyer proved that Rohan’s actual maximum speed was between 10-15 miles per hour. Despite the disputed liability, we successfully secured a $130,000 settlement for Rohan.
