What Happened?
On June 6, 2021, Tiffany was an unrestrained backseat passenger in a vehicle with 4 other individuals. The vehicle she was in was heading westbound on North Conduit Avenue. When the vehicle made it to the intersection of Cross Bay Boulevard, a vehicle behind them attempted to go around them and struck them in the rear. The car Tiffany was in lost control, crashed into a pole, and overturned! On top of that, the vehicle that struck them left the accident scene. Tiffany, along with everyone in the vehicle, were taken by ambulance to the emergency room at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Tiffany was evaluated, treated, and discharged home several hours later.
As a result of the accident, Tiffany suffered injuries to her neck, upper back, and left leg. She experienced persistent pain in those areas and also had swelling in her left leg. An MRI of her left leg revealed a hematoma, which is usually caused by a broken blood vessel that was damaged by an injury or surgery. To this day, her bruise is still visible. Soon after the accident, she also felt chest tightness which required her to be evaluated with CT chest angiogram studies while she was in the emergency room. Tiffany reported difficulty with motion overall and difficulty with walking. She attended physical therapy for several months and, thankfully, was not required to undergo surgery.
Thanks to a referral, Tiffany made the choice to contact our personal injury team about a week after the accident. While several factors would have made Tiffany’s case difficult to recover the highest amount of compensation due to her situation (not wearing a seatbelt, having a prior accident, the Defendant left the accident scene, etc.), our skilled Queens injured passenger attorney at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP took care of all her medical bills and we recovered the HIGHEST AWARD possible for Tiffany!
