The Facts
On January 24, 2020, Ellen had just stepped into the road to cross the street close to Linden Blvd and 217th Street in Queens, New York. As she entered the street between two parked cars, a motorcycle passing at that exact moment struck Ellen! She hit her head and lost consciousness. Ellen was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation and was discharged home.
As a result of the accident, Ellen suffered injuries to her hands, back, head, left hip, and feet. After the accident, she complained of severe pain in the back of her head and pain when she breathed. Her feet/ankles were swollen and she felt a constant throbbing pain in her left hip, which made mobility incredibly difficult for her. Even with the help of a walker, Ellen still had difficulty getting dressed, standing, and walking.
Ellen heard all about The Case Handler team at PPID from the radio and called us for legal help! According to the accident report, the police mentioned that Ellen was NOT in the crosswalk but in the middle of the block when she was attempting to cross the street and had no pedestrian signal to cross at the time of the accident. In addition, Ellen was involved in a previous car accident as a passenger earlier that same month! When an injured victim has a previous accident, especially close in timing, tying an injury to a particular accident can be difficult to prove to the insurance company. Many lawyers would refuse to help, but not The Case Handler team! With the help of our Queens pedestrian accident attorneys, Ellen recovered the MAXIMUM POLICY LIMITS of $25,000.00!
