What Happened?
On January 11, 2024, Villette had just completed her grocery shopping and was crossing the street near Linden Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard in Queens, New York. Suddenly, a vehicle failed to notice Villette as she crossed and turned onto Linden Boulevard, colliding with the right side of her body. The force of the impact caused her to tumble, resulting in a head injury. Fortunately, the driver stopped promptly and remained at the scene. Villette was soon taken to Jamaica Hospital via ambulance, where she underwent evaluation and received stitches in her head before being discharged later that day.
The aftermath of the accident left Villette with injuries to her forehead, teeth, neck, lower back, right shoulder, right knee, right pinky, left thumb, and teeth. The impact of her fall resulted in luxation injuries to several teeth, leading to discomfort while chewing and sensitivity to temperature changes. The pain in her neck extended to her right arm, accompanied by numbness and tingling sensations. Additionally, her lower back pain radiated down her right leg, causing further numbness and tingling. Consequently, Villette faced challenges in lifting objects, performing overhead activities, dressing, and sleeping on her shoulder. However, she has been undergoing physical therapy and has shown signs of improvement.
