What Happened?
On March 28th, 2020, Chasity was driving and saw the traffic light ahead starting to turn red at the intersection of 234th Street and Linden Boulevard. As she began to slow down, she was struck by the vehicle behind her! The other driver later claimed to the police that he thought Chasity was going to make the light but stopped and caused the accident. After the accident, Chasity was treated at the scene and did not feel like she needed further medical attention right away. Her pain grew worse, so she went to Long Island Jewish Medical Center the next day where she was evaluated, treated, and discharged home.
As a result of the accident, Chasity injured her neck and lower back. Her neck pain made it difficult to turn her head and the pain in her back made it difficult to bend down. She experienced left-hand paresthesias, which is an abnormal tingling or “pins and needles” sensation. She suffered a left C6 radiculopathy (pinched nerve), and multiple cervical and lumbar disc bulges, herniations, and muscle spasms. Chasity attended several sessions of physical therapy and underwent a back pain management injection on November 11, 2020.
Chastity’s father, who was also a client of ours, told her to call Adam Handler! At first, she was hesitant to contact a lawyer since this was her first accident, and did not know what to expect. Fortunately, she listened to her father and made the call. The defendant’s insurance company offered such a low offer to Chasity that it was an insult for everything she endured, physically and financially, because of the accident. With the help of our skilled Queens rear collision attorneys at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, Chasity recovered the maximum policy limits!
