- Cassidy from Queens, NY
What Happened?
On November 18, 2022, Cassidy was driving on a one-way street northbound on 115th Street in Queens, New York. She stopped at a stop sign, waiting to turn left onto 111th Avenue, when the driver to her left waved to signal it was safe to pass. Cassidy began her turn, entering the intersection, when she was suddenly struck on the front passenger side by a speeding car. The other driver had run a stop sign and later admitted to speeding. Cassidy was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she was evaluated, treated, and given pain medication before being discharged the same day.
Due to the crash, Cassidy suffered injuries to her neck, left knee, and back. During the accident, she hit her head on the steering wheel but, thankfully, did not lose consciousness. She later experienced ongoing neck, upper back, and mid-back pain, along with occasional left knee pain. Even a year after the accident, Cassidy continued to report an increase in back pain severity and frequency, with some intermittent radiation to her lower extremities and left knee pain that worsened with walking. She pursued conservative treatment, a daily home exercise program, and received pain management injections for her left knee and back.
