What Happened?
On August 13, 2019, Melissa was in the back seat of an Uber, traveling northbound on Van Wyck Expressway. The driver, aiming for the Long Island Expressway westbound entrance ramp, unfortunately lost control due to an unsafe speed, ultimately colliding with an outer wall. It had been previously raining, so the pavement was extra slippery as well. Following the incident, Melissa was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of Long Island Jewish Medical Center where she underwent evaluation, treatment, and was discharged later that same day.
Melissa injured her upper back and lower back due to the accident. As a result of these injuries, she complained of persistent severe upper and lower back pain that worsened with motion, prolonged sitting, walking, and bending. Melissa had difficulty with heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling. Diagnostic studies unveiled multiple bulging discs to her upper and lower back. Engaging in physical therapy for several months, Melissa had to take a hiatus from work lasting twelve weeks due to the accident.
Immediately after the incident, Melissa reached out to our team based on a friend's recommendation. As she focused on her recovery, The Case Handler team took charge. With the expertise of our adept Queens Uber passenger injury lawyer, all of Melissa's medical bills were covered, lost wages were compensated, and a favorable outcome was achieved – all thanks to The Case Handler team!
