What Happened?
On July 4th, 2019, Samson was driving for work on Willow Grove Road in the Town of Stony Point, New York. He made a full stop behind 3 cars at the intersection of Knapp Road, when the vehicle behind him failed to stop and crashed into him! On impact, Samson remembered hitting his head on the headrest. The driver of the other vehicle claimed that one of her contact lenses fell out and she looked down at her lap to find her lens when she suddenly rear-ended Samson’s vehicle. Initially, Samson didn’t think he was injured but a few hours later he began to experience pain to the back of his head and his back. Since his pain continued to worsen, he went to an urgent care center for evaluation a couple of days later.
As a result of the accident, Samson suffered injuries to his neck, back, and shoulders. He continued to have neck pain and low back pain with muscle spasms, which felt worse when he stood or sat down for too long. He attended physical therapy, received pain management injections to his shoulders, and ultimately was required to undergo right shoulder surgery under general anesthesia (right shoulder anterior labral tear with partial-thickness tear of the rotator cuff with impingement) on June 2nd, 2021, and left shoulder surgery (left shoulder anterior labral tear and SLAP tear with partial-thickness tear of the rotator cuff with impingement) on August 12th, 2020. Samson was out of work for over five months.
Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, Samson contacted our personal injury team a few days after the accident. As clear as it was who was at-fault for the accident (maybe not so clear for the other driver with a missing eye contact), the Defendant’s insurance company still did not want to pay Samson financial compensation for his bodily injury claim. With the help of our unstoppable Stony Point car accident attorneys at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, all of Samson’s medical bills were paid and we helped him recover $335,000.00!
