What Happened?
On October 6, 2016, Wally was working as a taxi driver when another vehicle ran a red light and t-boned his vehicle on the passenger side. He felt like his body was thrown in multiple directions while strapped into his seat and his car came to a stop. After the accident, Wally was in complete shock. He was taken by ambulance to the ER of Montefiore Hospital. They took x-rays of his shoulder, which came back negative. He was later released the same day with pain medication.
Wally suffered injuries to his shoulders, knee, back, hands and head. He experienced a constant sharp pain in his bilateral shoulders. Wally also had occasional headaches with dull like sensations located in the frontal region of his head. He felt worse when standing and walking for a long period of time. His lower back pain felt sharp and constant, with radiating pain to the buttocks area. Wally underwent surgery to his left knee and had pain management injections to his back. Wally struggled with daily activities; such as getting dressed, grooming, housework and picking things up to mention a few. He attended physical therapy for 3-4 days per week to manage the pain and missed work for a long period of time as a result of the accident.
Wally was a true supporter of The Case Handler team, and already had our phone number saved on his phone! Thank goodness he did, since Wally knew just who to call after his accident. The Defendant’s insurance company refused to take responsibility for the accident. When this happens, the case can prolong and be extremely frustrating. Already aware of these tactics by the insurance company, The Case Handler team built a strong argument and successfully proved the other driver was liable for the accident at Wally’s deposition. In the end, The Case Handler team recovered $200,000.00 for Wally!
