“Adam Handler is an outstanding attorney. He obtained a perfect result for me in connection with my serious car accident, and he was extremely responsive. He and his team really care!”
- Moses from White Plains, NY
What Happened?
On May 22, 2024, Moses was standing on the corner of Hamilton Avenue and North Lexington Avenue in White Plains, New York when the pedestrian cross signal indicated it was his turn to cross. Since buses were partially obstructing the crosswalk, Moses decided to walk around them and continued on the crosswalk. Suddenly, he felt the impact of a car striking him, causing him to fall onto his left side. The driver, attempting a left turn, also had a green light but claimed that the “pedestrian suddenly emerged from the sidewalk.” Due to the impact, Moses’ right foot became trapped in the left front wheel well of the vehicle. The fire department had to puncture the vehicle’s left front tire to free his leg. He was then taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was examined, treated, and admitted for several days.
Following the collision, Moses suffered a left hip fracture (femoral neck fracture) that required a total hip replacement on May 23, 2024. He also had bruising and superficial abrasions on his right lower extremity and right elbow. Once his condition stabilized, he began participating in an intensive inpatient rehabilitation program at least three times per week. Nearly a month later, Moses was able to return to work as an attorney, though he required a cane for walking. He experienced left hip and thigh pain with prolonged sitting and was unable to sleep on his left side. Despite these challenges, he diligently attended physical therapy and has been recovering well.
As an attorney himself, Moses knew the importance of having excellent legal representation for his personal injury claim. Two days after the accident, he chose to contact The Case Handler team. While the vehicle also had a green light, nearby signs indicated that “turning traffic must yield to pedestrians.” This was a crucial detail in the case. Despite the driver only having a $25k maximum policy limit, our outstanding White Plains pedestrian accident lawyer ensured that all of Moses’ medical bills were paid in full. Moses recovered the $25,000 maximum policy limit from the driver’s insurance company and successfully secured an additional $475,000 through his underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage!
