On July 24th, 2021, Demi was an unbelted backseat passenger in a vehicle that was driving east through the intersection of South Broadway and Radford Street in Yonkers, New York. At that very moment, a vehicle traveling south failed to stop at the red light and T-boned the driver’s side of the vehicle Demi was riding in and collided with a third car that was waiting to turn at the intersection. The vehicle that ran a red light and the third car both collided into parked cars, which resulted in a five-car collision! To make matters worse, the driver that ran a red light fled the scene. Demi was transported by ambulance to the emergency department at Jacobi Hospital where she was evaluated, treated, and released.
As a result of the accident, Demi injured her neck, back, and right leg. When the collision occurred, she remembered her body being thrown towards the trunk of the car. Demi experienced headaches, neck pain, and back pain with difficulty standing and sitting for long periods of time. She also had leg pain on the right side with swelling. Demi attended physical therapy for several months and underwent pain management injections to her lower back. Due to her injuries, she was unable to work for a few months.
Thanks to a friend’s recommendation, Demi heard about The Case Handler team and called us two days after the accident! While she was able to focus on treating her injuries, our team went to work to find the vehicle that fled the scene of the accident. With the help of our renown Yonkers multi-car accident lawyers at Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco, LLP, we successfully located the owner of the car that ran the red light, took care of her medical bills, recovered her lost wages and won a $24,500.00 settlement for Demi!
